Shafik Malende
Hi, I’m Shafik Malende, a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist at the Internet Society Foundation. I work to make sure we’re capturing the real impact of our programs by using data and stories to show the difference we’re making around the world.
My background is in public health, program evaluation, and data analysis. Before joining the Foundation, I spent more than eight years supporting USAID-funded projects that helped strengthen health systems and expand digital access in communities that are often left out. I care deeply about using data and technology to drive positive change and help programs reach the people who need them most.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me traveling, diving into research, or learning something new. I’m always curious about how people and communities grow and adapt — and that curiosity keeps me inspired in the work I do.
